Pee Wee Ellis All Star Band w/ Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, and Mulgrew Miller! Bookmark and Share
Very Rare Engagement

Pee Wee Ellis’ career has spanned many years and many styles of music. Key in the creation of Funk, Pee Wee grew up in the Jazz scene of the East Coast in the 1950s and 60s.

He is now excited to be returning to New York City for an engagement with his long time friends Ron Carter (they first played together in Rochester’s famous Pythodd in 1957), Jimmy Cobb and Mulgrew Miller.

As Pee Wee says, “I joined the James Brown Review to earn enough money to be able to play Jazz – I just didn’t expect it to take so long!”

In a New York Times poll, Pee Wee’s trio recording “Twelve and More Blues” was voted in the top 10 Jazz CDs of 1994.

“Known as a funk maestro, Pee Wee Ellis shows his worth as an excellent/splendid jazz saxophonist.”
