Geri Allen is an African-American Jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. Her abilities are many. She is both leader and collaborator. An artist grounded in tradition yet always poised on the cutting edge. She has given concerts internationally and her acclaim is worldwide.
In the past several years, she has appeared as a composer, and performer in concert,at Zankel Hall in Carnegie Hall, Caramoor Festival in Katonah, NY, the San Francisco Jazz Festival playing the music of Mary Lou Williams. In 2008 she was honored with as a Guggenheim fellow.
Ravi Coltrane - tenor and soprano saxophonist, bandleader, and composer - has fronted a variety of jazz lineups, recorded critically-hailed albums as leader, produced recordings by other artists – including his mother, worked as sideman for jazz luminaries, overseen important jazz reissues, and founded an independent record label. Son of legendary jazz greats John and Alice, Ravi Coltrane continues to strengthen his own brand with his new release Blending Times.
